Katia, Stronger, Slower to Brush E Bermuda, RI & Halifax NS Unless….

Katia is strengthening. Attn: Bermuda, Rhode Island, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Also, new tropical storm to form in the gulf according to tropopause forecast.

This report includes several views of Katia.

The tropopause report has been extremely reliable. It has Katia brushing east of Bermuda, closest US location is Rhode Island but will stay off coast, and a close brush with Halifax, Nova Scotia. It would be good to check the moon and tides in these areas. So far, radar isn’t reporting precipitation or any affects in Puerto Rico or the islands. Katia is about 300 miles NE of the Leeward Islands.

If Katia remains slow moving, there is as much a possibility of strengthening to a Cat 3-4, as there is of Katia remaining a Cat 1-2. I think the media will be more careful about projecting terror this time; however, my humble opinion is that Katia is a worse storm than Irene was.
